LTO Tracker: Check Your Plate Number and Driver's License Status Online

You bought your vehicle months ago. The dealer said your plate would arrive soon. That was six months back, and you still have no plate, no update, and no idea where to even start asking. Thousands of Filipino vehicle owners deal with this exact frustration every single day. The same goes for driver’s license renewals. You applied, you waited, and now you have no clue if your card is sitting at some LTO branch or still being processed.

That is exactly why the LTO Tracker exists. This free online tool lets you check the real-time status of your vehicle plate and driver’s license without stepping inside any LTO office. On this page, you will find everything you need to use the tracker correctly, understand your status, and take the right next step.

LTO Tracker

What Is the LTO Tracker?

The LTO Tracker is a free online platform built by the Land Transportation Office of the Philippines. It was created to give vehicle owners and licensed drivers a way to monitor the status of their plates and license cards without visiting an LTO branch.

The LTO has been dealing with a serious backlog of undelivered motor vehicle plates since as far back as 2014. Driver’s license card shortages added to that problem in 2023. People were lining up at offices, asking the same questions repeatedly, and leaving with no answers. The LTO Tracker was introduced to cut through that cycle and give people real information on demand. The LTO tracker tells if your application is

  • Select MV File Number as your tracking method

How to Track Your Driver's License Status

Tracking your license takes a slightly different process from plate tracking. Here is how to do it:

Your license status will show on screen within seconds. If you recently renewed and the system shows “Not Found,” do not panic. It may simply mean your card has not been logged into the system yet. Give it a few days and try again. For a more detailed breakdown of what each license status means and what to do next, visit our page on LTO driver’s license status.

What You Can Track on the LTO Portal

The LTO portal covers two main document types. Both are tracked through the same platform but require different details.

Vehicle Plate Number Status

The LTO plate tracker shows you the current production and delivery status of your motor vehicle plate. Whether your plate is still being processed, already at your local branch for pickup, or on its way to your address, the tracker will show you exactly where it stands.

To use the LTO plate number tracker online, you need either your assigned plate number or your 15-digit MV File Number. New vehicle owners who have not yet received a plate number will almost always need to use the MV File Number route.

Driver's License Status

The LTO driver’s license tracking feature works separately from plate tracking. It shows whether your license card has been processed, is ready for pickup, or has been dispatched for delivery. You will need your

  • 13-digit driver’s license number
  • Your birth date

This is especially useful after a renewal, where wait times can stretch for weeks.

LTO Tracker Status Messages and What They Mean

Once you hit Track, one of several status messages will appear. Each one means something specific and points you toward a different next action. Here is a full breakdown:

Status Message What It Means
In Process / Under Process
Your plate or license is still being produced. Nothing to collect yet.
Available for Pickup
Your document is ready and waiting at your designated LTO branch.
Ready for Delivery
Your item is packed and handed to the courier, but has not been dispatched yet.
Dispatched / Shipped
Your plate or license is on its way via courier. Delivery takes 5 to 21 days, depending on your location.
Not Found
The system cannot find your record. Usually, a typo, a system glitch, or a record not yet entered.

What to do based on your status

01

In Process

If your status says In Process, there is nothing to do but wait. The LTO is still working on your document, and no action is needed from your side.

02

Available for Pickup

If it says Available for Pickup, you need to visit the specific LTO branch you selected during registration. Bring your valid government ID and your Certificate of Registration. Do not go to a different branch because they will not have your plate.

03

Ready for Delivery or Dispatched

If you see Ready for Delivery or Dispatched, you can either wait for the courier or log back into the tracker to check for a tracking number. Keep an eye on your registered mobile number and email for courier updates.

04

Not Found

If your result is Not Found, double-check every digit you entered. If everything looks correct and the result is still the same, try switching from plate number to MV File Number or vice versa. For proper guidance, read our How to fix not found LTO plate status guide.

Picking Up Your Plate vs. Getting It Delivered

Once your plate or license is ready, you have two options. You can go pick it up in person or have it delivered to your address. Both are valid, but they come with different requirements.

Requirements for Pickup

Going to the LTO branch is a simple route, and it costs nothing extra. However, you need to come prepared.

  • Bring your original government-issued ID, not a photocopy
  • Carry your vehicle’s Certificate of Registration (CR)
  • Go only to the LTO branch you originally selected during your application
  • No appointment is required at most branches, but it helps to go early to avoid queues

Once you hand over your documents to the service counter, they will verify your details and release the plate to you. Check the plate number on the spot before leaving the premises.

How Delivery Works

The delivery option lets the plate come to you through an LTO-accredited courier service. It is convenient but involves a few steps and a small fee.

Here is what the process looks like:

  • Upload a clear photo of your valid government ID
  • Upload a photo of your Certificate of Registration or Official Receipt
  • Enter your complete delivery address, including barangay, city, and a nearby landmark
  • Add your active contact number
  • Pay the delivery fee through GCash or QRPh

Delivery fees are not fixed. They range between ₱150 and ₱600 depending on your location.

Manila City

₱150 to ₱200

Less than 4 working days

Other NCR Cities

₱200 to ₱300

4 to 10 working days

Cities Outside NCR

₱300 to ₱450

10 to 21 working days

Remote Areas

₱450 to ₱600

Up to 28 working days

After payment is confirmed, you will receive a courier tracking number via SMS or email. Use that number to monitor your shipment directly through the courier.

How Delivery Works
LTO Tracker for NCR Users

LTO Tracker for NCR Users

If you are based in Metro Manila or anywhere within the National Capital Region, there are a few things specific to your situation that are worth knowing.

NCR is where the highest volume of LTO transactions happens. That means the main LTO Tracker portal can sometimes be slower or temporarily unavailable during peak periods. The good news is that LTO NCR runs its own separate online inquiry system that you can use as a backup when the central tracker is not loading. It covers both new plate inquiries and replacement plate requests for NCR-registered vehicles. For those who have been waiting for their physical motorcycle or car plates, our LTO replacement plate tracking guide will help you see when they are ready to claim.

Saturday operations are another NCR-specific detail many people do not know about. LTO branches within Metro Manila and CALABARZON are open on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This is not the case everywhere else in the country. Outside NCR and CALABARZON, branches follow a Monday to Friday schedule only. Always confirm with your specific branch before making a trip on a Saturday.

Why Use the LTO Tracker

You could always just go to your LTO branch and ask in person. But here is what that actually involves: travel time, queuing, possibly being told to come back another day, and doing it all over again. For something as simple as checking a status, that is a lot of wasted time.

01

No travel, no queues, no guessing

The LTO Tracker removes all of that. You check in under two minutes from wherever you are. No travel. No queue. No guessing.

02

Real clarity, on demand

Beyond convenience, the tracker gives you something even more useful: clarity. You know exactly what stage your document is at, what is expected to happen next, and whether you need to take any action. That kind of visibility was simply not available before this tool existed.

03

Avoid common mistakes

It also helps you avoid common mistakes like going to the wrong LTO branch for pickup, missing a delivery because you did not know it was coming, or submitting a follow-up request when your plate is actually already on its way.

If you want to go beyond basic tracking and check things like violations or apprehension records linked to your plate or license, our guide on how to track your LTO violations and alarms online covers exactly that. And if you ever lose your documents and need official document copies from the LTO, see our page on track and request certified true copies from the LTO.

Common LTO Tracker Problems

The tracker is a useful tool, but it is not perfect. Here are the issues that come up most often and what you can do about each one.

Status keeps showing "Not Found"

This is the most common complaint. It usually comes down to one of three things:

  • A typo in the plate number or MV file number
  • A record that has not been entered into the system yet
  • A temporary glitch

The website is down or not loading

The LTO Tracker portal has been known to go offline for stretches of time, sometimes days at a time. If the page is not loading, wait 20 to 30 minutes and try again. For NCR users, the regional backup portal is a good alternative while the main site is down.

LTO portal login is not working

If you are trying to log into your LTMS account and the login page is not responding, clear your browser cache and try again. If the issue continues, try a different browser or device. For help with account creation and login steps, visit our page on the LTO portal login and registration. If your account is lost and you don’t know how to retrieve it, read our How to retrieve LTO portal account guide.

The plate shows as dispatched, but has not arrived

If your plate has been marked as dispatched and weeks have passed with no delivery, the first step is to check the courier tracking number sent to your phone or email. If you never received one, or if the courier’s own system shows no movement, visit your designated LTO branch in person and bring your OR and CR as proof of your transaction.

Tips for Accurate Tracking

Small mistakes cause most of the problems people run into on the tracker. These habits will save you a lot of frustration:

Final Thoughts

Waiting on your plate or license should not feel like a guessing game. The LTO Tracker gives you real answers in real time, without the queue, without the wasted trips, and without the frustration of not knowing where your documents actually are.

Most people who struggle with this either do not know the tracker exists or do not know how to use it correctly. Now you do. You know how to track by plate number and MV File Number, what every status message means, how pickup and delivery both work, and what to do when something goes wrong.

Whether you are following up on a plate that has been in process for months, checking on a license renewal, or just trying to figure out your next step, this tool covers all of it.

Start by entering your plate number or MV File Number in the tracker at the top of this page. It takes under two minutes and gives you the clarity you have been looking for. If you run into any issues along the way, our guides on how to fix not-found LTO plate status, LTO portal login and registration, and LTO plate delivery service have you covered for every scenario. What documents do I need to pick up my plate?

Bring your original government-issued ID and your vehicle’s Certificate of Registration. Make sure you go to the specific LTO branch linked to your application.

How do I check my driver's license renewal status?

Is LTO open on Saturdays?

LTO branches in Metro Manila (NCR) and CALABARZON are open on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Branches in other regions follow a Monday to Friday schedule.

My plate shows as dispatched, but nothing has arrived. What do I do?

Check the courier tracking number that was sent to your registered mobile or email. If there has been no movement for more than three weeks, visit your LTO branch with your OR and CR to follow up in person.

Do I need an LTMS account to use the tracker?

No. Basic tracking only requires your license number, plate number, or MV file number. An LTMS account can help if your status keeps showing “Not Found” since adding your client number gives the system more details to work with.

Can I check who owns a plate number through the LTO portal?

The tracker does not publicly display owner information. For official ownership verification, you need to submit a formal request to the LTO and obtain a certified true copy of the registration.

How do I track my LTO plate?

How do I claim my LTO plate?

Once your status shows “Available for Pickup,” visit the LTO branch you selected during your vehicle registration. Bring your original government-issued ID and your Certificate of Registration. If you opted for home delivery, your plate will arrive through the LTO-accredited courier.

How to check if a plate is already available in LTO?

Use the LTO plate tracker on this page. If your status reads “Available for Pickup,” your plate is already at your designated LTO branch and ready to collect. If it still shows “In Process,” it has not been released to the branch yet.

How to verify a plate number?

Enter the plate number in the LTO plate number tracker on this page. The system will pull up the registration status linked to that plate. This confirms whether the plate exists in the LTO database and shows its current status.
